Preparing your computer to connect to the Fairfield University Student Network

 

Operating System and Software updates To successfully connect your computer to the STUDENT network, we require that your computer has the latest operating system updates and security updates.  For Windows-based computers, run Windows Updates and be sure to include updates for Microsoft Office as well. For Apple computers, be sure to run Software Updates.

Your computer must be registered on the Fairfield University Student Network:  View instructions on the registration process.

Antivirus Software and current virus definitions:  We require that all Apple and Windows-based machines have an antivirus application installed with updated virus definitions. You will not be allowed on our network if you do not have antivirus software with current virus definitions installed.

Which antivirus programs are required?  We permit most major antivirus programs, including:

Activate/Claim Your NetID Account 

Reset your NetID Password (remember to enter your 'user name', and then click 'forgot password'.  NetID user names are firstname.lastname for students)

Student Gmail Account Student Gmail Account

The format for student Gmail addresses is firstname.lastname@student.fairfield.edu. NetID user names are firstname.lastname
